The Quad-ring® joint acts by deformation and is equipped with a double sealing edge. The axial or radial sealing force depends on the deformation of the seal, which increases with the pressure of the fluid itself. Quad-ring® seals are installed in grooves of rectangular cross-section with rounded groove bottom corners and rounded or chamfered edges. The efficiency and service life of these joints depends on the roughness and finish of the surface they rub against.
Although the range of sections available is smaller than for O-rings, Quad-Ring® seals can be installed in standard O-ring pockets. In addition, they offer certain advantages over O-rings:
They are not twisted as they do not tend to rotate like O-rings.
They are subject to less wear because they require less preload during installation.

Dynamic axial and rotary applications, depending on working conditions.
The Quad-ring® ensures the working conditions:
Pressure: up to 40 MPa (400 bar) depending on the extrusion groove
Speed: up to 0.5 m/s in axial movement.
Speed: up to 2.0 m/s in rotary motion.
Temperature: from -40 ºC to +200 ºC, depending on the material.
The elastomers in stock are NBR and FPM. On request, Quad-ring® seals can be supplied in EPDM, VMQ, PTFE, etc.
